Frequently Asked Questions

What is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a natural state that everyone experiences many times a day.  It is a relaxed and focused sort of day dreamy state that that we drift into when driving a familiar route, watching an engrossing movie, and just before we drift off to sleep. This relaxed state opens up a connection between the conscious and subconscious mind that allows us to recreate our subconscious self-image, habits, beliefs, views of the world around us, and improve our emotional well-being.

What is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is a partnership between the client and the hypnotherapist.  It begins with a discussion of the client's issues and concerns. Together the client and therapist develop a positive solution that resonates with the client.  Once the hypnotherapist has helped the client relax into a hypnotic state, the hypnotherapist is able to modify any subconscious negative beliefs or habits and reinforce the positive solutions the client has identified as their goal.  Generally the client will hear all or most of the hypnotherapy even while in hypnosis. Most clients find hypnotherapy to be a pleasant, relaxing experience and may feel some relief after only one session. Hypnotherapy is a very effective way to make positive changes because the subconscious essentially repeats or replays old habits, beliefs, and emotions until the subconscious learns new ways of seeing things and doing things. And the subconscious learns most quickly and easily in a state of hypnosis. Hypnotherapy is a fast track to changing your life.
